Always Last to Know

Don't you hate it when you find out something that everyone else seems to have known forever?  Or maybe it's just me...

For those of you how may not know I'm a stay at home Mom of  3 great but growing kids & a Children's Pastor's wife.  Being a good steward of what the Lord has given us is a high priority.

I've recently been introduced to a whole new world.  More out of curiosity than anything else.  About at year ago I came across a young woman at our local Walmart.  She was armed with a pink binder FULL of coupons.  The buggy was full of assorted items & a sweet little boy with his rocket blanket.  It was the binder that caught my eye first & maybe I was nervous but I chose to follow her around  a bit before I stopped her...Then right there in the frozen food isle the stalk was over I was face to face with "The Southern Coupon Queen".  I managed an, "excuse me but what's all that?"...real smart I know.  The young woman began to explain to me in a very matter of fact way that she was a "couponer" (a term I've never heard) & this was her binder.  Well I asked the usual questions "Do you really save money doing this?" & "Aren't the store brands always cheaper?"  She smiled a polite smile and answered all my questions.  We talked for quite a while before we swapped names & FB info.  In a matter of about an hour she managed to challenge my thinking all together.  All the "saving" habits I had may not have really been saving me as much as it could have...This didn't sit well with me at all!
Soon after the chance encounter in Wally World, TLC advertise a special they were showing that night on "Extreme Couponing".  That night flipped the switch!
Today I am a binder carrying member of the coupon club!  I drank the Kool Aid & got it for free!  Ladies if you haven't looked into this world I encourage you to sneak a peek!  You really don't have anything to loose! To see what the Queen is all about check out her web page http://www.southerncouponqueen.com/ or you can find her on Face Book page by the same name.
